Amitabh Bachchan Recalls Almost Fainting After Encounter with Michael Jackson at New York Hotel
Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan recently shared a fascinating story about his unexpected meeting with pop icon Michael Jackson during a stay at a New York hotel. Bachchan, who is currently hosting season 16 of Kaun Banega Crorepati, recounted the encounter while chatting with Padma Shree awardees Dr. Abhay and Dr. Rani Bang, who were guests on his quiz show.
The actor revealed the incident after asking Dr. Rani Bang about her favourite singer. When she named Michael Jackson, Bachchan recalled a surreal moment when the late pop superstar mistakenly knocked on his hotel room door.
Bachchan recounted, “I was staying at a hotel in New York when I suddenly heard a knock. I opened the door and was shocked to see Michael Jackson standing outside. I almost fainted but somehow managed to maintain my composure. He asked if it was my room, and when I confirmed, he realized he had come to the wrong room.”
Despite the confusion, the moment led to an unexpected connection. “Later, he sent someone to reach out, and we ended up sitting down and having a conversation. Even with his immense fame, he was incredibly humble,” Bachchan added.
The Bollywood icon also recalled attending one of Michael Jackson’s concerts in the U.S. “It was quite difficult to secure tickets, and when we arrived at the hotel, we found out all 350 rooms were booked for Jackson and his team. We finally got seats at the back of the stadium. His performance was incredible – his singing and dancing were extraordinary, and the energy in the crowd was electrifying.”
