Angela Okorie Accuses Burna Boy of Exploiting Socialite Sophia Egbueje
Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has called out Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy for allegedly failing to fulfill his promise of buying a Lamborghini for socialite Sophia Egbueje after an alleged one-night stand.
In a recently leaked audio conversation, Sophia accused Burna Boy of reneging on his promise to buy her a luxury car following their encounter. The revelation sparked widespread reactions online.
Weighing in on the controversy, Okorie criticized Burna Boy, claiming he took advantage of Sophia despite her being upfront about her expectations. She argued that as a public figure, the singer should have honored his word, emphasizing that many young people look up to him as a role model.
In a video posted on Instagram, Okorie stated, “This is the worst thing any celebrity can do. You were made a superstar for a reason—to be a voice for those who can’t speak and to help those in need. Instead, you took advantage of a woman who clearly stated her price.”
She further defended Sophia’s demand for a Lamborghini, arguing that critics were being unfair. “She told you her worth—if you could afford it, then you could sleep with her. That’s what she said. But as an A-list star who should be advocating for others, you took advantage of the situation instead.”
Burna Boy has yet to respond to the accusations.
