Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Series Set to Be the Largest Yet: Bigger Displays and Subtle Design Shifts Expected

In a scoop for Apple enthusiasts, the much-anticipated iPhone 16 Pro series is set to be the largest in Apple’s smartphone lineup, with displays estimated at approximately 6.3 inches and 6.85 inches, surpassing the current iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. Multiple sources have provided insights to MacRumors, suggesting that the larger screens will contribute to slightly taller, wider, and heavier devices compared to their predecessors.

For instance, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is projected to measure 163.0 mm in height, 77.58 mm in width, and weigh 225 grams, exhibiting a marginal increase from the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 159.9 mm height, 76.70 mm width, and 221 grams weight. While the changes are subtle, they are expected to bring noticeable distinctions to the premium smartphone market where size and form factor play a crucial role.

It’s worth noting that the thickness of the new iPhones will remain consistent at 8.25 mm, avoiding any bulkiness. This shift in dimensions could potentially enable Apple to incorporate a higher-capacity battery or introduce other enhancements, enhancing the overall user experience.

However, one drawback for consumers is the incompatibility with existing iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max cases, requiring users to invest in new, properly fitting protection. The larger displays are anticipated to be exclusive to the Pro line initially and are not expected to reach the standard iPhone and iPhone Plus models until the arrival of the iPhone 17 in late 2025.

Aside from the size upgrades, the iPhone 16 Pro series is speculated to feature Apple’s advanced A18 Pro chip, potential support for Wi-Fi 7, and faster 5G connectivity. Additionally, the introduction of solid-state buttons, a previously planned feature for the iPhone 15 Pro, might finally become a reality, offering users a more durable and responsive interface. Apple enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting further details as the release date approaches.
