Arsenal Avoid Damaging Loss to Southampton With 2 Late Goals
Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka scored in the final three minutes of regular time to salvage a 3-3 draw against last-placed Southampton on Friday and extend their tenuous lead over Manchester City to five points.
The Gunners conceded twice in the opening 15 minutes and seemed on their way to a potentially damaging home defeat when Odegaard’s 88th-minute strike buoyed their title hopes.
Reigning champions City can still leapfrog Arsenal if they win their two games in hand.
Their next league match is against Mikel Arteta’s side at the Etihad on Wednesday.
