Asake Tops Spotify Nigeria’s All-Time Streaming Chart

Nigerian singer Asake has been named the most-streamed artist of all time on Spotify Nigeria, following the release of new milestone rankings by the streaming service.

Spotify published the list to mark its fifth anniversary in Nigeria, highlighting the country’s most-played artistes and songs since the platform launched locally. Asake led the all-time artistes’ chart, ahead of Wizkid in second place and Seyi Vibez in third. Burna Boy ranked fourth, while Davido completed the top five.

The streaming platform also released a list of the most-streamed songs of all time in Nigeria, with Asake again topping the chart through his track Remember. Dealer by Ayo Maff and Fireboy DML followed in second place, while Awolowo by Fido ranked third. Wizkid’s Kese placed fourth, with Asake’s Lonely At The Top rounding out the top five.

Beyond Nigeria, Nigerian music featured prominently across other African markets. On Spotify Kenya, Ruger’s Asiwaju led the all-time songs chart, followed by Rush by Ayra Starr and Bandana by Fireboy DML. Asake’s Lonely At The Top ranked fifth, while Kenyan singer Bein placed fourth with Inauma.

In Ghana, the most-streamed song of all time was Wotowoto Seasoning by Odumodublvck featuring Black Sherif. Asake’s Lonely At The Top came second, with Black Sherif occupying the remaining spots in the top five.

Spotify said the anniversary lists reflect the growing global reach and influence of Nigerian and African music, driven by sustained streaming and cross-border appeal.
