Blaqbonez Says He Won’t Stay 15 Years in the Music Industry, Hails Olamide’s Longevity

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has revealed he does not intend to remain in the music industry for as long as 15 years, citing personal limits to how long he wants to continue making music professionally.

The “Like Ice Spice” rapper made the statement on social media while commending YBNL boss Olamide for his enduring presence in the Nigerian music scene.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Blaqbonez praised the veteran rapper’s newly released album and consistency over the years. “Respect to @Olamide for this album, to be able to do this like 15 years in is crazy. It’s the type of longevity everyone prays for. Real Everlasting Taker,” he wrote.

However, in a follow-up post, Blaqbonez made it clear that such a long run in the industry isn’t part of his personal plan. “Me I no fit do 15 years o, the one wey una see, u go take,” he stated.

His comment has stirred conversation among fans, with some expressing surprise while others praised his honesty. Blaqbonez, known for his unfiltered takes and genre-blending style, has been a prominent figure in Nigeria’s new school rap scene and continues to be one of its most outspoken voices.
