Cardi B Says She’s Taking a Break From Social Media, Blames ‘Crazy’ People
Cardi B, the renowned rapper and social media personality, has decided to step back from social media platforms due to the overwhelming negativity she’s encountered online.
During a Twitter Spaces stream on Wednesday (September 20), Cardi B expressed her frustration, stating, “I feel like people on social media are fucking crazy and bananas, and I feel like they gonna drive me crazy. There’s a whole bunch of people that was in the fucking slow class, and ya’ll not gonna muthafuckin’ make me feel like ya’ll. They ain’t gonna make me feel like them, so I just have to get the fuck off this shit.”
Earlier that same day, Cardi B celebrated her anniversary with her husband, Offset, whom she has been married to since 2017. She shared an Instagram post in which she showcased a room filled with flowers, presumably arranged by the Migos rapper. In the caption, she expressed her love and appreciation for him.
However, some individuals in the comment section perceived her post as throwing shade at others. One user commented, “Imagine celebrating your anniversary and still being Sssoooooooo miserable you’re focused on throwing shade and NOT UR HAPPINESS… money ain’t do ish for u lol.”
Cardi B responded to the comment, expressing confusion and stating, “I’m really confused? I gotta reread again… How am I throwing shade? What the hell y’all be on for real?”
Another user continued to accuse her of throwing shade and playing the victim. Cardi B, visibly frustrated, asked for clarification, “DIRECT ME TO THE SHADE… Cause I’m asking but y’all not giving me answers?”
It appears that this interaction on Instagram, coupled with the negativity she has encountered on social media in general, led Cardi B to make the decision to take a break from these platforms.
