Cuba Gooding Jr. Shows Off Dance Moves Onstage with French Montana at LIV in Miami

In a spontaneous display of enthusiasm and rhythm, Cuba Gooding Jr. stole the spotlight during French Montana’s recent performance at LIV in Miami, Florida. The renowned actor showcased his vibrant dance skills, including the iconic running man, proving that he knows how to let loose and have a good time.

LIV has become a hotspot for celebrities during its week-long New Year’s celebrations, attracting A-listers like Mario Duran, Dimelo Flow, Gunna, and upcoming performances by power couple Cardi B and Offset on New Year’s Eve.

During French Montana’s performance on Friday, December 29, Cuba Gooding Jr. took the stage, joining the rapper in a lively dance routine. This isn’t the first time the Oscar-winning actor has displayed his dancing prowess for the hip-hop community.

Last month, at the American Group Travel Awards ceremony in Florida’s Boca Raton Resort, Gooding Jr. honored Public Enemy co-founder Flavor Flav with the World Hospitality Award. Not only did he present the award, but he also hit the dance floor, showcasing his moves and surprising attendees with his dance skills.

Flavor Flav shared a recording of the moment on Instagram, stating, “MY BOY N DA HOOD CUBA GOODING JR,!! Y’all didn’t know he could get down like that.” He revealed that Cuba was a break dancer in the 1984 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony, highlighting the actor’s longstanding connection to the world of dance.

While Cuba Gooding Jr. is widely recognized for his acting achievements, he initially made a mark in the culture through iconic movies such as “Boyz N The Hood” and “New Jack City.” In 2015, the African American Film Critics Association honored these films at its annual awards ceremony, celebrating their 25th anniversary the following year in 2016. The AAFCA themed the ceremony as a “Celebration of Hip Hop Cinema,” recognizing the profound impact of hip-hop on Hollywood.

John Singleton, the director of “Boyz N The Hood,” received a 2016 AAFCA Special Achievement Award during the event. The film, featuring Cuba Gooding Jr., Ice Cube, and Morris Chestnut, delves into the challenges faced by a young man in South Central Los Angeles. “New Jack City,” starring Wesley Snipes and Ice T, was also acknowledged for its influence on hip-hop cinema.

Established in 2003, the AAFCA serves as a platform for films relevant to the African American population, featuring black actors and filmmakers. The association is dedicated to providing opportunities and support for young journalists and film critics within the industry.
