Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster is on the verge of signing for Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer.
Forster’s contract is expected to expire at the end of June, which would open the door for him to switch clubs as a free agent.
According to a BBC report, the 34-year-old goalkeeper has undergone his medicals and a deal is expected to be announced soon.
The English international will provide back-up to Spurs captain and goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris.
While Lloris’ current deputy, Pierluigi Gollini is on loan from Serie A side Atalanta, his future remains unclear. Spurs have the option to buy him, but in recent days he revealed he would be happy to return to Italy.
Forster signed for Southampton in 2014 and made 156 appearances for the south coast club while he has 6 caps for the England national team.
