Jurgen Klopp Hails Roberto Firminho as ‘Heart and Soul’ of Liverpool Amid Juventus Transfer Links

Liverpool Manager, Jurgen Klopp has described Roberto Firminho as the ‘heart and soul’ of the club despite a keen pursuit of the player by Juventus.

Roberto Firmino’s contract expires at the end of the season, and reports in Italy have suggested that Juventus are keen on securing the Brazilian striker’s signature as they look to replace Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata.

While Jurgen Klopp admits that Firmino’s long-term future is uncertain, the Liverpool manager insists that the player remains crucial to his side’s plans this season.

Firmino has only a year left on his deal, and Liverpool may therefore be keen to cash in on a 30-year-old who could depart on a free next summer.

“Bobby [Roberto Firmino] is crucial for us, the heart and soul of this team, the way we played in the last years was only possible because of Bobby,” said the Liverpool manager ahead of the Community Shield.

While Sadio Mane left the club for Bayern Munich this summer, Liverpool replenished their forward resources by signing Darwin Nunez from Benfica. Mohamed Salah was also tied down to a new long-term deal.
