Juventus Makes Bid for Romelu Lukaku as Chelsea Striker Transfer Saga Takes a Twist

The Romelu Lukaku transfer saga has taken another surprising turn, as Italian giants Juventus entered the race to sign the Chelsea striker.

While a return to Inter Milan seemed inevitable for Lukaku, with the player rejecting other offers in favour of rejoining the Champions League finalists, Juventus has now matched Inter’s bid. According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, the Turin club has offered €37.5 million (£32m/$41m) plus bonuses, potentially raising the figure to €40m (£34m/$45m).

This unexpected development has led to Lukaku cutting off communication with Inter directors, leaving the transfer negotiations uncertain.

Juventus has informed Chelsea that they must first offload Dusan Vlahovic before completing the signing of Lukaku. The Italian club aims to finalize the Vlahovic deal before August 4, which means the Lukaku saga could drag on for several more weeks.

Despite various rumours surrounding Vlahovic’s future, there has been little concrete news about a firm bid for the player. Chelsea, eager to conclude the Lukaku deal as soon as possible, would prefer to continue negotiations with Inter, who have been their primary point of contact.

As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on Lukaku’s next move and whether Juventus can successfully secure his signature. The bidding war between Inter and Juventus adds an intriguing layer to the saga, with Lukaku’s ultimate destination still uncertain.
