Kid Cudi Attains Master’s Degree in Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni Miami
In a proud moment for the multi-talented artist Kid Cudi, he added another feather to his cap by receiving an honorary master’s degree in fashion design from Istituto Marangoni Miami. The graduation ceremony, which took place on Friday (December 8), was marked by a touching moment shared with his mother.
Kid Cudi shared the heartwarming occasion on his Instagram, expressing his gratitude for the recognition. In a custom-made cap and gown, the Cleveland native posed with his mother, capturing the emotional essence of the achievement.
“Today was a really special day,” he wrote in the caption. “Man, words can’t really express how I felt/feel now in this moment. I’m happy, I feel complete, accomplished, validated, all the things that bring immense joy. My mom sharing this moment with me was everything. She got emotional, and it was such a special memory we’ll have together forever.”
The 39-year-old artist, known for his influential style and impact on the fashion scene, revealed that he did not follow the traditional academic route. He obtained his GED in high school and only attended a year of college. Kid Cudi’s achievement was particularly meaningful for his mother, who witnessed him attain a milestone he once doubted.
In recognition of his contributions to modern fashion and luxury, Istituto Marangoni Miami honoured Kid Cudi with an honorary degree. The institution shared the news on social media, announcing that proceeds from Kid Cudi’s Members of the Rage pop-up outlet would be donated to their scholarship fund.
“This honorary degree from Istituto Marangoni Miami recognizes Scott’s (@kidcudi) accomplishments and vision in shaping the scene of modern fashion and luxury with Members of the Rage (@membersoftherage),” the institution’s Instagram post stated. “It is an honor for us to present this to the world of fashion worldwide and also a statement in the continuous pursuit of education in fashion and design, the future and the present of creativity.”
Kid Cudi, renowned for his distinctive fashion sense, has been a prominent figure in the intersection of music and style. Recently, he collaborated with his longtime friend and collaborator NIGO to launch a new clothing line, WZRD CWBY. This marks his second clothing line of 2023, following the successful launch of Members of the Rage earlier in the year.
