LeBron Ruled Out vs. Jazz With Sore Foot in 1st Absence of Season

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will miss Monday’s contest versus the Utah Jazz with left foot soreness, the team announced.

This will mark James’ first absence of the season. The 37-year-old played in all nine of the Lakers’ games to date, averaging just over 36 minutes per contest.

Guards Lonnie Walker and Patrick Beverley are also ruled out due to non-COVID illnesses. It will be Beverley’s second consecutive missed contest; Walker is out for the first time this season.

Star big man Anthony Davis, meanwhile, is probable to play despite dealing with a back issue.
Los Angeles is facing Utah on the second night of a back-to-back. Darvin Ham’s squad hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, falling to a 114-100 defeat.

James, who was listed as probable for that matchup despite his sore foot, logged just under 34 minutes as the Lakers dropped to 2-7 on the season.
