Mane Leaves Liverpool to Join Bayern in £35 Million Deal

Senegalese forward, Sadio Mane has completed a £35 million move away from Liverpool to German giants, Bayern Munich in a 3-year contract that officially brings his 6-year spell with the reds to an end.

Liverpool will receive 32 million euros (£27) that comes with an additional 6 million euros tied to performance and another 3 million euros based on individua and team achievements.

It should be recalled that Liverpool had earlier turned down 2 bids from the Bundegliga giants before eventually agreeing a fee for the Senegalese forward who was still under contract until next summer.

“This is the right time for this challenge,” Mane said.

“I felt the great interest of this big club from the start so there was no doubt in my mind.”

The 30-year-old joined Liverpool for £34m from Southampton in June 2016, and scored 120 goals in 269 games, finishing last season with 23 goals in all competitions.

“Sadio Mane is a world star who underscores the appeal of FC Bayern and increases the attractiveness of the entire Bundesliga,” said Bayern president Herbert Hainer. “It is for such unique footballers that the fans come to the stadiums.”
