More Trouble For Kanye West as He Faces $400 Lawsuit From Fashion Collector
Multi-Grammy winner and billionaire Kanye West popularly known as Ye is once again in the news for the wrong reasons as he faces a lawsuit from a sophisticated fashion rental service that is claiming that Ye owes more than 221K in unpaid fees and that he hasn’t returned more than a dozen select pieces.
As reported by Marca, David Casavant Archive, which promotes itself as a “private collection of the world’s rarest and most coveted garments” is claiming that Ye hasn’t paid his dues for 13 rare items that he still has.
The fashion collector also rents exclusive clothing to Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Tom Brady, and many other A-Listers
Casavant Archive also claims that in case the items are completely lost, West would need to pay what he owes which is $221,810 plus additional fees to replace the items which are $195,100, so the source told Billboard Magazine.
“The items are all rare, esteemed pieces valued for their scarcity and importance in fashion history,” Casavant Archive’s lawyers have stated.
“They are not fungible commodities. The replacement fees reflect the loss of future rentals, loan opportunities, publicity, and the lost value to the Archive as a whole, as each lost item is part of a greater collection that derives its value from its completeness.”
