Nigerian Music Industry is So Dark – Qing Madi
Rising Afrobeats singer Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, better known as Qing Madi, has expressed concerns over the state of the Nigerian music industry, calling it “so dark.”
The 18-year-old made the statement in a recent Instagram story post, hinting at troubling experiences within the entertainment space. While she did not elaborate, her remarks echo a growing chorus of discontent among some artists in the industry.
Earlier this year, fellow artist Reekado Banks alleged the presence of a “demonic” figure in the music industry deliberately working against emerging talent. Similarly, artists like Kizz Daniel have previously claimed the Nigerian music scene is controlled by a powerful “cabal.”
Qing Madi is no stranger to controversy around her faith and public stance. In 2023, she revealed she lost a significant number of followers after using her platform to preach about Jesus Christ. Despite the backlash, she maintained that she had no regrets.
Her latest comment adds to the ongoing conversation about the challenges many artists face behind the scenes in Nigeria’s booming music industry.
