Omah Lay Accuses Fellow Artist of Stealing His Album Concept
Nigerian singer Omah Lay has publicly accused a fellow artist of appropriating the concept for what was supposed to be his next album. During an interview on the Zach Sang Show, Omah Lay revealed that he shared a unique idea for his upcoming album with an unnamed colleague, with the intention of collaborating. However, the artist allegedly took the idea and released an album based on it.
Omah Lay expressed his frustration, stating, “I shared an idea with a certain artist, and the artist went ahead and put out an album with my idea. I had to re-record my album.”
The singer further explained that his song “Holy Ghost” represented a new sound he was exploring, and he initially planned to base his entire album on this fresh direction. However, after the alleged incident, he decided to rework his project.
Despite the setback, Omah Lay remains confident in the quality of his work, asserting, “I had to go back and remake my album, which is actually going to be the greatest album of all time in Afrobeats history.”
