Pasuma Addresses Osun Attack, Clarifies Details from Ikire Incident

Fuji music icon Wasiu Alabi Pasuma has spoken publicly for the first time since he was attacked by a group of thugs during a recent visit to Ikire, a town in Osun State’s Irewole Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred last Sunday during a scheduled performance, sparked widespread concern after a viral video emerged online showing damage to vehicles in the singer’s convoy. In the clip, an unidentified voice can be heard shouting, “We have been attacked in Ikire. They carry guns and shoot us, see Pasuma’s car. But God dey.”

However, during a recent live performance, Pasuma offered his own account of the event, downplaying reports of gunfire and providing clarity on what transpired.

“About what happened in Ikire, I have a lot of loyal fans there, and I appreciate them,” the veteran performer said. “But there’s no town without a few bad elements.”

He explained that the venue chosen for his performance was overwhelmed by the number of fans eager to see him. “The person who invited me had booked a hall, but the turnout was massive – almost half the town came out. A screen was set up outside for those who couldn’t get in, but many refused to watch from there.”

Pasuma said tensions rose when security officers prevented the overflow crowd from forcing their way into the hall. “Some of the unruly ones among them began throwing stones. That’s what shattered the windscreen of my Hilux and the Hummer bus. But to be clear, there were no gunshots.”

The singer’s statement comes as a bid to calm speculation and misinformation surrounding the incident, which had drawn concern from fans and observers across social media. Despite the disturbance, Pasuma assured his audience that he remains undeterred and grateful for the support of his fans in Ikire and beyond.
