Saudi Spending Spree Isn’t Over

Romelu Lukaku has received a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal, worth up to £20 million per season.
The Saudi Arabian club is also targeting Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as well as Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

Lukaku, who spent last season on loan at Inter Milan from Chelsea, met with Al-Hilal officials in Paris on Monday to discuss a potential move to the Saudi Pro League.

However, Lukaku is believed to prefer a return to Inter Milan, although the financial issues faced by the Italian club may make a permanent transfer difficult.

Inter Milan officials are scheduled to visit London this week to negotiate a £50 million move for Cameroon goalkeeper André Onana.

They are also considering a possible loan deal for Lukaku, whom they sold to Chelsea in 2021 for £100 million. Additionally, Inter Milan is interested in signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, whom they bought for £34 million less than a year ago.

Chelsea’s co-owner, Todd Boehly, recently traveled to Saudi Arabia to meet the president of Al-Hilal as part of an effort to streamline their squad before a potential move for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

Wilfried Zaha is expected to reject a £30 million per season offer to join Cristiano Ronaldo, leading Al-Nassr to turn their attention to Hakim Ziyech.

Ziyech, who nearly joined Paris Saint-Germain in January, had limited playing time last season, making only six Premier League starts.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has attracted interest from multiple Saudi clubs after being told he is free to leave Stamford Bridge.

Riyad Mahrez, who has caught the attention of Saudi club Al-Ahli, is reportedly open to leaving Manchester City despite being part of their treble-winning squad.

Mahrez signed a two-year contract extension with City last summer, and the club is expected to demand a significant fee for the Algerian forward, whom they acquired from Leicester City in 2018 for £60 million.

There is a possibility of Philippe Coutinho reuniting with Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq, as the former Brazilian forward has been offered a two-year deal.

Gerrard, who signed Coutinho from Barcelona in January, has engaged in talks this week regarding potentially becoming the club’s manager.
