Speed Darlington Speaks Out After Arrest Linked to Burna Boy, Claims N30 Million is Needed to Detain Him

Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, has spoken out following his release from police custody, days after being arrested in a dispute involving fellow artist Burna Boy. Darlington’s arrest reportedly stemmed from his controversial comments questioning the legitimacy of Burna Boy’s Grammy win, linking it to American rapper Diddy, who was involved in producing Burna’s award-winning album.

In a video shared after his release, Darlington, in his characteristic bold style, mocked Burna Boy, stating that it would take a hefty sum of “30 million” to detain him. He also took jabs at Nigerian security agencies, saying, “EFCC gives beds, DSS provides food. I survived ground zero, what can you do to me?”

This arrest marks a peak in tensions between the two artists, with Darlington’s comments sparking significant debate in the music community. Despite his time in custody, Darlington seems undeterred, maintaining his outspoken persona.

In the video, he reinforced his claims by captioning it, “Big fish; it takes 30 million to carry me,” a statement that has sparked both amusement and debate among fans.
