Stop Comparing Me with Olamide – Phyno Tells Fans

Indigenous rapper Chibuzor Azubike Nelson, popularly known as Phyno, has issued a strong warning to fans, urging them to stop comparing him to fellow rapper Olamide or any other artist.

Over the years, fans have frequently drawn comparisons between Phyno, known for rapping predominantly in Igbo, and Olamide, who raps mainly in Yoruba. Despite their long-standing collaborations and friendship, fans continue to pit the two against each other in debates about their rap prowess.

The latest instance occurred on social media platform X, when a user with the handle @TheDamiForeign posted, “When it comes to rap, who’s the GOAT? Phyno versus Olamide.” This sparked yet another wave of online comparisons between the two artists.

Reacting to the post, a visibly frustrated Phyno took to social media to express his displeasure. He wrote, “Yo!!! Tf is wrong with you guys for God’s sake. Stop putting me up against my brother or anybody else for that matter. Do your banter with someone else… na ala adi agba unu… wtf.”

Phyno’s statement makes it clear that he does not appreciate being compared to his longtime collaborator, reinforcing his desire for fans to respect the individuality and unique contributions of each artist.
