T.I. Admits He Has lost Money Pursuing Comedy Career

Atlanta rap legend T.I., known for his musical prowess, has revealed a commitment to his passion for comedy, even at the expense of monetary gains. During the premiere of his latest film, “Da ’Partments,” in Los Angeles on Monday (November 20), HipHopDX seized a moment to engage in a brief chat with the artist.

T.I. shared insights into his perspective on navigating the entertainment industry, emphasizing the importance of chasing dreams rather than purely pursuing financial gains. He expressed this philosophy, stating, “Chase the money, not the women.” Adding to this, he highlighted his personal growth, noting, “I learned something else — after that, I learned chase the dream, not the money.”

When questioned about turning down lucrative opportunities that don’t align with his artistic goals, T.I. candidly admitted, “I do it every time I choose to do comedy instead of go and do music.”

Despite acknowledging the financial challenges tied to his comedy pursuits, T.I. stands firm in his dedication to follow his passions. Earlier this month, the artist, alongside his wife Tiny Harris, inaugurated The Intrada Westside, an affordable housing complex in Atlanta. The project, featuring 143 apartments and 25 units for homeless youth, reflects the couple’s commitment to community development.

Speaking about the venture, T.I. shared sentiments about the impact the arts and entertainment industry can have on local communities. He underscored the significance of collaboration and profitability in providing much-needed resources to the community.

T.I. initially unveiled plans for The Intrada Westside back in 2021, emphasizing a personal connection to the site, which was once a grocery store where his grandmother used to shop. Reflecting on the development, he stated, “Since everybody’s from here, what you done did for here? I ain’t finna do a whole bunch jaw-jacking. I’m gonna show mine. But, you know, this is our first project as developers. We’re proud of it.” Concluding his statement, he urged observers to focus on his actions rather than mere words, saying, “Don’t look at me. Look at my work. Look at my moves. Shit, we can kill all the cap.”
