Telegram Rolls Out New Update to Combat Spam and Enhance User Experience
Messaging platform Telegram has introduced a new update packed with features designed to reduce spam, improve user security, and offer new monetization options. The update, aimed at enhancing user experience, includes tools that allow for better content management and engagement.
One of the standout features is the introduction of Star for New Messages, which enables premium users to charge a fee in Telegram Stars for messages from people outside their contact list. This feature is expected to minimize spam while also giving users an opportunity to earn Stars.
Another significant addition is Contact Confirmation, a security measure that provides users with key details about unknown senders before engaging in conversation. This includes the sender’s country, shared group memberships, account history, and verification status—helping users make informed decisions before responding.
Additionally, Telegram has introduced a way for users to use their Stars to gift premium subscriptions. Users can withdraw their earned Stars after a 21-day waiting period and utilize them for services like Telegram advertising.
To personalize profiles further, the update now allows users to pin up to six digital gifts on their profile cover. These can be managed through the My Profile section in settings.
The latest update reinforces Telegram’s commitment to balancing user convenience, security, and monetization opportunities, positioning it as one of the most dynamic messaging platforms globally.
