TikToker Peller Apologises for Calling Runtown an ‘Up-and-Coming Artist’

TikTok personality Peller has issued a public apology after facing backlash for referring to Afrobeats star Runtown as an “up-and-coming artist.”

During a recent livestream, Peller dismissed a co-streamer’s suggestion to feature Runtown, implying that the singer lacked recognition and success. The comment quickly sparked outrage, with many social media users criticising him for downplaying Runtown’s influence in the music industry.

Following the backlash, Peller admitted his mistake and acknowledged that he was well aware of the singer’s achievements. He explained that he was too young to own a phone when Runtown’s songs were dominating the charts.

Speaking during a livestream with Elizabeth Amoudu, he said, “When I was hearing Runtown’s music back then, I was too young to even use a phone. Peller never come town when Runtown dey Runtown. Please, forgive the poor boy. Let him breathe. God won’t shame us. I’m sorry, my brothers and sisters.”
