Tyson Fury Hits Out at Anthony Joshua For Rejecting Heavyweight Mega-Fight

Tyson Fury has expressed his frustration with Anthony Joshua for declining his offer to fight in September, labeling him a “p* boy.” The heavyweight champion claimed to have sent a draft contract to Joshua, but Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, stated that he never received the offer.

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, countered by asserting that Joshua turned down their proposal because he preferred to fight in August and then potentially face Deontay Wilder later in the year. Taking to Instagram, Fury responded to the news of the potential mega-fight collapsing once again, stating, “What a proper p** boy.”

He also criticized Oleksandr Usyk, another heavyweight champion whom he was previously linked to fight in April, adding, “Usyk is a p* so is AJ.”

Fury and Joshua have been linked to a showdown for years, and it seemed that they would finally meet in August 2021 after both fighters agreed to the bout.

However, a US arbitration judge ruled in favor of Fury’s trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder, resulting in the cancellation of the Joshua fight.

Warren revealed that Hearn had met with his son George to discuss the highly anticipated fight, but Joshua insisted on sticking to his previously scheduled dates instead of fighting in September.

Warren explained, “Last week, a written proposal was sent to Matchroom for AJ to fight Tyson in September.

Eddie Hearn came back and spoke to my son George, who said it will take a couple of days to see where they are with it. A couple of days passed, and George met yesterday with AJ’s management company. They confirmed that AJ is fighting in Dubai in December, which is his preferred route. There is a space open in August, but they basically do not want to do the fight.”
Fury, who last fought in a heavily criticized trilogy bout against Derek Chisora in December, has been eagerly awaiting his next challenge.

Joshua, on the other hand, secured his first victory in over two years with a lackluster decision win against Jermaine Franklin in April. The two fighters clashed in the ring after the final bell, further fueling anticipation for their potential matchup.
