Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder

Tyson Fury: ‘My Most Formidable Opponent Was Deontay Wilder’

Tyson Fury thinks Deontay Wilder is capable of knocking anyone out cold, well anyone besides him, adding he was his most formidable opponent so far, specially after having three fights in which the British touched the canvas on four occasions.

As reported on Marca, the “Gypsy King” explained to Foxify that his big size were the answer to Wilder’s dinamite fists, given he mainly knocked out boxers smaller than him, adding that anyone who says that size doesn’t matter is lying.

“I think my sheer size and weight has a lot to do with him not being able to knock me out cold. He hits a guy 6ft 3ins and 225lbs, they’re nailed to the canvas. But a guy 6ft 9ins and 277lbs – I think that has a lot to do with it, size matters.”

Tyson Fury paid high praise to Deontay Wilder in interview

Tyson Fury has fought Deontay Wilder three times, with their first bout being ruled a draw and the next two having been won by the British, who called the American his most formidable opponent and could win against anyone in the heavyweight division but him.

“I had three fight with that guy and all three times it could’ve been curtains for me at any single second. Deontay Wilder has dynamite in his fists and if he lands on you, whether it’s round one or round 12, he’s going to knock you down or knock you out.”

“He knocked out every single person that he ever fought, apart from me. He’s definitely my most formidable opponent and I’d back him to beat everybody in the division apart from myself.”

This could be seen as Fury throwing flowers at Wilder ahead of a fourth bout between two of the great heavyweights in the world right now.
