WAFCON 2022: South Africa Qualify For Final After Dramatic Win Vs Zambia

The Banyana Banyana of South Africa have qualified for the final of the WAFCON 2022 after securing a dramatic 1-0 win against the Copper Queens of Zambia in Monday’s semi-final.

With the game heading for extra-time after six minutes of added time, the South Africans were awarded a penalty for a foul on a Banyana Banyana player after long consultation with VAR.

And Linda Motlhalo converted the spot kick to send the South Africans to their fifth WAFCON in final appearance.

It is now back-to-back final appearance for Banyana Banyana, who lost 4-3 to the Super Falcons of Nigeria at the 2018 edition.
