Wizkid Dedicates Upcoming Album to Late Mother
Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that his forthcoming sixth studio album will be a tribute to his late mother, Jane Morayo Balogun.
Wizkid announced this heartfelt dedication in a video message shared on his social media platforms. The album, titled ‘Morayo’ in honour of his mother, is set to be released soon.
In the video, Wizkid expressed his deep affection for his mother, saying, “My album ‘Morayo’, dedicated to my mum, the love of my life, drops very soon. Don’t dull. Don’t sleep.”
This tribute comes after the passing of Wizkid’s mother on August 18, 2023, in London. Reflecting on his loss, Wizkid shared, “The pain is profound.”
