Yinka Quadri Opens Up About Family’s Distress Over Death Rumors
Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has expressed deep disappointment over the distress caused by false rumours of his death, which circulated earlier this year.
In June, reports of the 65-year-old actor’s alleged demise went viral, sparking widespread concern among his fans and loved ones. Quadri promptly debunked the rumours via an Instagram post, assuring everyone that he was “alive and well.”
However, during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Quadri revealed how the baseless claims caused unnecessary anxiety within his family, particularly among his children, who reside overseas.
“When I saw the news, I thought, ‘Well done, content creators,’” Quadri said, voicing his disappointment. “No one would be happy hearing death rumours about themselves. I leave the person behind these lies to God’s judgment. If they think causing sadness in people’s families is a pathway to success, they are mistaken.”
Quadri explained that despite maintaining regular communication with his children every three days, the rumours led to increased concern.
“My children were saying, ‘I just spoke to Daddy last week,’ but as the news spread, everyone became troubled,” he recounted. “They started calling me in the morning, afternoon, and again at night to confirm that I was okay.”
The actor’s candid response highlights the emotional toll that fake news and rumors can have on individuals and their families, especially when such claims target public figures.
