Angelina Jolie’s Daughter Vivienne Takes Tough Stance as Her Assistant on Broadway

Angelina Jolie’s 15-year-old daughter, Vivienne, took on the role of a “really tough assistant” during their collaboration on the Broadway musical adaptation of ‘The Outsiders’.

As Angelina served as the lead producer for the show, Vivienne, who shares her love for theatre, volunteered to join the project, displaying a keen eye for detail and a serious approach to her responsibilities, according to her mother.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Angelina shared, “Viv. Definitely Viv … Hands down. She’ll correct me. She’ll say, ‘Didn’t you read the memo? We have to do this, we have to go through this’. She’s been a really tough assistant. She takes it very, very seriously.”

Angelina previously likened Vivienne to her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, praising her daughter’s supportive and thoughtful nature. Vivienne’s dedication to theatre played a pivotal role in Angelina’s decision to join the project, as she explained, “Viv reminds me of my mother in that she isn’t focused on being the centre of attention but in being a support to other creatives.”

Expressing her enthusiasm for the show’s Broadway debut, Angelina shared her excitement for the opportunity to contribute to the production and continue her journey in theatre, a passion she discovered during her time at the Lee Strasberg Institute.

Vivienne’s involvement in the musical was celebrated at its red carpet premiere in New York, where she accompanied her mother. Based on S. E. Hinton’s classic novel, ‘The Outsiders’ has been adapted into various forms, including a 1983 film directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
