Beyoncé Has No Plans to Return to Acting, Says Mother Tina Knowles
Tina Knowles, the mother of global music icon Beyoncé, has revealed that her daughter has no intention of returning to acting.
Although it has been over a decade since Beyoncé last starred in a live-action film, she lent her voice to Disney’s 2019 remake of The Lion King and reprised her role in 2024’s Mufasa alongside her daughter, Blue Ivy. However, according to her mother, the singer has decided to step away from the film industry.
Tina Knowles shared a clip of Beyoncé’s performance as Etta James in the 2008 film Cadillac Records, expressing her admiration for her daughter’s acting skills. In the post, she wrote:
“[Cadillac Records] is still one of my favorite movies, and it makes me miss the fact that my child decided not to continue with movies. She killed it in this movie. And she so unselfishly donated her salary to the Phoenix House.”
Before stepping away from acting, Beyoncé featured in several blockbuster films, including Carmen: A Hip Hopera, Austin Powers in Goldmember, Dreamgirls, and others. Despite her success on screen, the multi-award-winning artist appears to be fully focused on her music career.
