Carlo Ancelotti Addresses Brazilian National Team Coaching Rumours

Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has broken his silence regarding the news confirming his deal with the Brazilian national team.

During an interview with Rai Radio 1, the Italian manager discussed the possibility of taking over the Brazilian national team at the end of the current season. While Ancelotti expressed his comfort at Real Madrid, he did not deny that he has reached an agreement to coach the Brazilian national team.

Regarding the reports linking him to Brazil, Ancelotti commented, “Agreement with Brazil? These are rumors and speculations… I feel very good at Real Madrid with the way things are going. We’ve had an excellent start to our season, and we hope to maintain the same level.”

It should be noted that the Brazilian Football Association (FA) had issued a statement in July 2023, before the beginning of the 2023/24 season, confirming Ancelotti’s upcoming role as the coach of the Brazilian national team.

Currently, the head coach of Fluminense, Fernando Diniz, is in charge of the Brazilian national team, taking over from Brazil’s U-20 manager, Ramon Menezes. Menezes had assumed the role of interim coach and had experienced two losses out of three friendly matches earlier in the year. Diniz will continue his responsibilities at Fluminense and will join the Brazilian national team for the World Cup qualifiers. Ancelotti is expected to take over as the head coach of Brazil in preparation for the 2024 Copa America and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

This appointment marks Ancelotti’s first venture as a national team coach in his illustrious career. He is set to succeed Tite, who stepped down from the position following Brazil’s quarter-finals defeat to Croatia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
