Man City Plot £25m Transfer Revenge on Arsenal

Manchester City are plotting a daring move for Kieran Tierney before the summer transfer window slams shut at the start of next month.

As reported by Football London, the Arsenal defender endured an injury-ridden campaign last season and now faces great competition for first-team opportunities following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Tierney, who sees his conract at the Emirates Stadium expire in 2026, featured 22 times for Mikel Arteta’s side in the Premier League last term. While his impressive displays guided the Gunners to a top-five finish, the Scotland international missed the final ten games due to knee surgery.

According to The Telegraph, Pep Guardiola’s side are preparing a move for the Scotsman as City look to – ironically – replace Zinchenko. City are said to have registered interest in Atletico Madrid left-back Renan Lodi and Anderlecht utility-man Sergio Gomez.

Guardiola was previously believed to have been interested in signing Marc Cucurella, though Chelsea swooped in when City outlined their intentions to not pay the £55million asking price. With the summer window set to slam shut in the coming weeks, the Premier League champions are exploring their options – one of whom happens to be Tierney.

Though, while City are considering a move for Scotsman, Tierney seems to have pledged his allegiance to Arteta. Speaking to Sky Sports last year, the £25.4million-rated defender spoke very highly of the Arsenal boss.
