Nigerian Travel Creator Alma Asinobi Aims for World Record with 70-Hour Continental Journey

Nigerian travel content creator, Alma Asinobi, has announced plans to embark on a record-breaking journey to visit all seven continents within 70 hours.

Set to begin on March 15, 2025, the ambitious trip will start in Australia and conclude in Nigeria. Asinobi revealed that she is taking on this challenge using her Nigerian passport to highlight the difficulties African travelers face due to passport privilege and visa restrictions.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, she explained her motivation, stating:

“I’m doing this with a Nigerian passport to shed more light on the issue of passport privilege. After applying for more than 10 visas – and being rejected twice, five times in total—I will speak more on why we cannot afford to remain silent about the second-class treatment many citizens face when traveling.”

She added that the journey aims to push the limits of one of the world’s lowest-ranking passports while encouraging others to explore the world despite existing barriers.

The current Guinness World Record for the fastest time to visit all continents is held by Indian travelers Ali Irani and Sujoy Kumar Mitra, who achieved the feat in three days, one hour, five minutes, and four seconds. Asinobi now hopes to surpass this record while raising awareness about travel restrictions affecting African passport holders.
