Speed Darlington Claims Burna Boy’s Sex-for-Lambo Controversy Was Staged
Controversial Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has alleged that the recent scandal involving Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy and socialite Sophia Egbueje was orchestrated to dispel rumors about the artist’s sexual orientation.
The controversy erupted last week when leaked audio surfaced online, in which Sophia accused Burna Boy of failing to deliver on a promised Lamborghini despite their alleged affair. The claim quickly sparked reactions across social media.
However, in a video shared on Instagram, Speed Darlington dismissed the saga as a publicity stunt, alleging that Burna Boy deliberately planned the incident with Sophia to convince the public that he is not gay.
“Why are you stressing yourself, running up and down, trying to prove you’re not gay?” Speed Darlington said. “You and that girl planned this. I know it will damage your name, but I’ll give you small money—just act like an escort so people believe I like women.”
The rapper, who previously made unverified claims that Burna Boy’s Grammy win was linked to his ties with American music mogul Diddy, doubled down on his stance, insisting that the Afrobeats star is hiding his true identity.
Burna Boy has not responded to the allegations, and the controversy continues to generate buzz across social media platforms.
