After ending his 27-year partnership with Nike last month, golf legend Tiger Woods has embarked on a new venture, announcing a partnership with Taylormade to launch his own apparel brand, Sun Day Red.

The announcement was made during a press conference held in the Los Angeles suburb of Pacific Palisades on Monday, marking a new chapter in Woods’ iconic career.

A landing page on the Sun Day Red website has teased the imminent arrival of the apparel line, stating “Coming May 01.” Additionally, a news release on the website revealed plans to expand the brand to include women’s and children’s styles, as well as footwear.

Woods’ decision to collaborate with Taylormade comes in the wake of his separation from Nike, a partnership that spanned nearly three decades. Last month, Woods and Nike bid farewell to their long-standing association, with Nike acknowledging Woods’ impact on the sport in a heartfelt Instagram post.

While Nike has been synonymous with Woods throughout his career, providing him with iconic red shirts for his tournaments and major championship victories, Woods’ move to Taylormade signifies a new direction in his branding strategy.

Despite facing setbacks, including a well-publicized scandal over a decade ago, Nike remained steadfast in its support of Woods. However, in recent years, Nike has scaled back its investment in golf, discontinuing its golf equipment business in 2016.
